In a union of two world-leading underwater technology companies, EvoLogics recently released a USBL tracking system built specifically for VideoRay ROVs. The USBL solution offers high-accuracy positioning to VideoRay owners by simply swapping the floatation block of the VideoRay. The EvoLogics floatation block is self-contained and self-powered, so that even in the case of a broken tether, it still is possible to track the position of the ROV. The VideoRay USBL system utilizes EvoLogics underwater acoustic modems and patented S2C (Sweep Spread Carrier) technology, which provides the most reliable two-way wireless communication even in complex or shallow underwater environments. This new plug-and-play tracking system will provide both new and existing VideoRay owners with a convenient and state-of-the-art positioning system for their ROVs.
Features of the new system include:
Plug and play - streamlined floating block with built-in EvoLogics "mini" pinger, a perfect fit for VideoRay
Accurate USBL positioning for geo-referenced subsea imaging
Great performance even in very shallow waters - minimum depth only 2 meters
Built-in backup battery - up to 12 hours of continous tracking after ROV tether failure
USBL transceiver, GNSS receiver/antenna, mounting accessories, SiNAPS software - complete system solution is easy to deploy and operate
